The Types and Shadows of the Passover

This blog page has been created to highlight the Gospel accounts of the Last Supper in the context of the ancient Jewish celebration of Passover. The Passover retelling of the events in Exodus, Israel’s delivery from slavery and oppression at the hands of Pharaoh, provides a typology of the sacrifice that Jesus of Nazareth, the Messiah, would provide by offering himself as the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. The aged question that began with many seders, “why is this night different than any other night?”, is ultimately answered in the events that immediately followed the seder dinner on that Thursday evening.
